As your resume is your representation, similar is the case with your email address. It is very common to use stickers on vehicles and T-shirts with slogans for personal expressions. But as a job seeker if you want to create a positive impression, unprofessional or unbranded email addresses are not recommended. It may create your first impression as a person with unprofessional attitude towards job search and next job.

You may follow the tips below to choose a professional and an effective Email Address for yourself.

1. Use an email address that includes your name, preferably first name and/or last name, initials, or a minor variation. (This will make it easy for your prospective employers to find you in their inbox and connect your email with your application or resume).

2. Don’t include your personal information like hobby, nickname, political or other references. (For safety reasons and not to be discriminated on any personal belief).

Brand yourself with your Name. It gives a professional impression. Also, it makes easy for the hiring professionals to find and remember you.
